This position is responsible for the strategy, vision, direction and overall success of the Volunteer Program of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. The Director is responsible for recruitment, engagement, orientation, and development of the volunteer corps and Front of House (“FOH”) leadership team of the Trust to ensure optimal staffing and performance in all areas for an outstanding experience for all Trust guests. This is a full-time position with working hours that will include evenings and weekends as determined by the needs of the Trust. The Director supports and helps to create a professional, first class, warm and welcoming atmosphere for all guests entering a Trust owned/operated venue or Trust event. Main job responsibilities include; collaborating with the Trust Chief Security Officer, Volunteer Coordinators, and other key internal stakeholders in the ongoing development of the Volunteer Program priorities, direction, and overall program strategy in support of the mission of the Trust. This collaboration will include: Identifying, developing and implementing strategies for the recruitment of new, diverse and qualified volunteers from both the public and corporate sectors. As well as Conceptualizing, organizing and executing volunteer introduction, orientation, and training sessions. The Director will be required to maintain a high level of communication with all volunteers in support of all program requirements and conveying a sense of value and respect. This position supervises a full-time Manager of Volunteer Services & Front of House Guest Experience along with a staff of part-time House Managers, Floor Managers, Doormen and Front of House Ambassadors. In addition, the Director is responsible for an extensive volunteer workforce necessary to conduct shows and events across Trust venues.
