Overall Purpose


This position will coordinate inventory optimization efforts between all departments of Duquesne Light, warehouse locations, and Procurement & Supply Chain staff.  Requires a thorough understanding of procurement and warehousing activity, organizational processes as they relate to a transaction, and coordination of daily/monthly ongoing inventory reconciliation. The functional responsibilities of this position span all departments of the utility and will interface with individuals both inside and outside of Duquesne Light.




  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies with quantity, receipts, picking, shipping, BOMs, etc. for raw materials
  • Review, recommend, and implement process changes and improvements including preparing written instructions in order to facilitate the implementation of these methods and procedures
  • Conduct Cycle Count inventory processes to ensure accuracy of records and timely execution
  • Responsible for developing and presenting reports in order to communicate the value, aging, movement, and accuracy of inventory
  • Communicate with procurement buyers and material handlers when shortages/inventory impacts are identified
  • Perform all inventory transactions per Supply Chain Management process documents
  • Responsible for the development & reporting of monthly inventory reports as it relates to inventory churns, value, issues, reclaims, and spend for both operations and/or financial review
  • Work with Sr. Manager, P&SC Business Operations to develop and implement policies & guidelines for use in setting and maintaining the correct inventory levels to meet utility operations and financial targets
